Notes with photos
Bold, italic, lists and a cover photo. Add the place and the pictures that go with the day.
A private journal for iPhone
Bunari is a calm place for notes, plans and the days worth remembering. Entries stay on your phone first, sync when you are online, and the Private journal opens only with your PIN.
What it does
Bold, italic, lists and a cover photo. Add the place and the pictures that go with the day.
Checklists with due dates and reminders, kept next to your notes instead of in another app.
Group the entries from a journey so the whole trip reads as one story.
A new question every day, templates to start from, and a weekly look back at what you wrote.
See the days you wrote this week, and what you wrote on this date in earlier years.
Everything saves on your phone first and syncs when you are back online. Nothing gets lost on a plane.
The Private journal
Private entries are locked on your iPhone before they are saved anywhere else. We only ever keep them locked, so not even we can read them.
Open them with your PIN or Face ID. If you forget your PIN, the recovery key you saved at setup gets you back in. We can't reset it for you.
Free to download. Sign in with Apple or your email.

You need an account, with an email address or your Apple ID, to use Bunari, because your journal is saved and synced to it. Everything else is up to you.
We do not use analytics or tracking tools, and we do not collect your contacts or advertising ID. This website does not use cookies or trackers either.
Bunari has three AI features. They are written by OpenAI, through our server.
We ask your permission before the first mood suggestion or Weekly Insight, and you can turn these features off at any time in the app's settings. Private entries are never sent. OpenAI does not use this data to train its models. It keeps it for up to 30 days to check for abuse, then deletes it. The prompts, mood suggestions and weekly summaries it writes are saved with your account so you can read them again. AI is never used to make decisions about you.
These providers run parts of Bunari. Each one handles your data only on our instructions and under a data processing agreement.
Your account, journal and photos are stored by Supabase in [Supabase region], and our server runs in [Railway region]. OpenAI handles AI requests in the United States.
Bunari is run from Kosovo, which the European Commission has not found to give the same protection as the EU. When your data goes to Kosovo, the United States or another country outside the EU, we rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, depending on the provider. Email us for a copy of these safeguards.
We keep your account and journal until you delete them. A deleted entry stays in Recently Deleted for 30 days, then it is removed. When you delete your profile, it is removed from our servers straight away, and from backups within [backup period]. Our providers keep short technical logs, such as the time of a request and the address it came from, for up to [log period] to keep the service secure. What OpenAI receives is deleted within 30 days.
Wherever you live, you can:
Most of this you can do in the app with Export readable journal and Delete Profile. For anything else, such as a machine-readable copy, email [support email] and we will answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live, or to Kosovo's Information and Privacy Agency. We do not sell or share your personal information.
Reminders are scheduled on your phone. A notification never shows the text of a Private entry.
When you delete an entry, it moves to Recently Deleted for 30 days, where you can restore it. After that, it and its photos are deleted for good.
Export readable journal creates a file of your journal that you can save or share. Private entries are left out. Delete Profile, in the app's settings, permanently removes your account, entries and photos from our servers.
Bunari is not meant for anyone under 16. If you believe someone under 16 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
If this policy changes, we will update the date above, and tell you in the app about important changes. Questions: [support email].
Bunari is made by [your full name], who is responsible for your data (the "controller"). Contact: [support email]. The postal address is in the Legal notice.

We usually reply within [2 working days]. Please don't send your PIN or recovery key. We will never ask for them.
On the locked Private screen, tap Use recovery key and enter the recovery key you saved when you set it up. Without the PIN or the recovery key, Private entries cannot be opened, not even by us.
Yes. Sign in with the same account and your journal syncs. Entries you write offline are saved on the phone and sync when you are back online.
Open Journals and tap Recently Deleted at the bottom. Deleted entries stay there for 30 days: tap one and choose Restore. Deleted Private entries show there once you unlock Private.
Open Settings and tap Export readable journal. Bunari creates a file you can save to Files or share. Private entries are not included.
Open Settings and tap Delete Profile. This permanently removes your account, entries and photos from our servers, including anything in Recently Deleted.
Only when you use an AI feature, and only the regular entries that feature needs. Private entries are never sent.
Terms of use
You need to be at least 16 to use Bunari. If you got Bunari from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement covers your licence to use the app, and these terms add the rules for your Bunari account and service. Apple is not responsible for Bunari, its content or its support.
What you write in Bunari belongs to you. We only store and process it so the app can work: to save, sync, and run the features you choose to use.
Keep your recovery key somewhere safe. If you lose both your PIN and your recovery key, your Private entries cannot be opened by anyone, including us.
Prompts, mood suggestions and weekly summaries are written by AI, and mood suggestions and weekly summaries only after you allow AI features. They can be wrong or miss the point, and they are not medical, legal or professional advice. The privacy policy explains what is sent.
We work hard to keep Bunari reliable and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Keep an export of anything you can't afford to lose.
We are fully responsible for damage we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and wherever the law makes us responsible regardless of fault. For slight negligence, we are responsible only if we break an obligation that is essential for Bunari to work, and then only for typical damage we could have foreseen. Apart from this, we are not responsible for damage caused by slight negligence. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.
These terms follow the law of Kosovo. If you live somewhere else, you keep the protections your own country's law gives you, and you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
You can delete your account at any time with Delete Profile in the app's settings. We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Except for serious abuse, we will tell you first by email and give you at least 30 days to export your journal.
If these terms change, we will update the date above. We will tell you in the app at least 30 days before an important change takes effect; if you don't agree, you can delete your account before then. Questions: [support email].
These terms are between you and [your full name], who makes Bunari. The postal address is in the Legal notice.
